This was an experiment with unfolding geometry.
I modeled the "Roborabbit" in 3ds Max, making sure to keep the surfaces planar.
I then unwrapped and packed the pieces for a templated that could be printed.
This template I used for cutting out cardboard from a cerealbox and folded and glued it together.
All in all, an incredibly tedious process.
Should I do it again I'd probably go for a solution using a computer guided lasercutter.
But always fun to see your 3d design in real life.
